Riding At Brenfield.
- Something for Everyone!
Here
at Brenfield, home of Argyll Trail Riding and the Castle Riding Centre, there’s
riding suitable for everyone, from the complete beginner to the advanced rider,
young or old.
Situated in acres of beautiful hills and forests, Brenfield is dedicated to the
art of riding, both educational and recreational. Throughout the year there is a
programme of trail rides, riding ’clinics’, and Le
Trec Instruction weeks.
It
won’t come as a surprise to learn that pony trekking originated in Scotland,
on native highland ponies, and this is one of the many riding activities in
which you can take part at Brenfield.
Trekking is ideal for both the novice and more experienced rider who wants to
travel at a leisurely pace, enjoying the glorious scenery of Loch Fyne and
Mid-Argyll. Our horses and ponies are strong, safe and reliable!
Beginners
(both adults and teenagers) can enjoy the thrill of a one or two hour ride
whilst those with a bit more experience can opt for a full day, or more.
Trail riding is suitable for the more experienced rider, secure at the canter.
Trail horses are very fit and capable of a fast pace over a variety of terrain.
A week long trail ride can take you into some of the most remote and
inaccessible ( by vehicle) parts of the Scottish Highlands, a privilege reserved
for a special few!
Riding Courses give riders, both beginner and experienced, an opportunity to learn and develop their riding, with instruction from our competent and qualified staff.
